Outstanding Sea Views & Comfort

Our history on Kangaroo Island and Snelling Beach Escape

We first visited Kangaroo Island and Snelling Beach in 1986, almost 30 years ago, and fell in love with it immediately. Back then, there were very few houses, and the area was mainly farmland. Rustic old fisherman shacks near the beach have now become luxury rental accommodation for a rapidly growing international market.

For the first few years we rented beach shacks, and were fortunate enough to be able to purchase this gorgeous 20 acre block with its magnificent views in 1994. The views sold the land to us, but the ground was rocky and challenged us.

Finding a builder prepared to work for us "in such a remote location" was the first challenge, but a champion presented himself, and we had a substantial solid double brick house by early 1996. We also purchased the adjacent 500 acre farm a few years later, and thoroughly enjoy raising our sheep there. Over the years, we have altered some aspects, added to it, planted a huge lawned area as well as many sheoaks and sugar gums, added dams for our stock, and worked on fencing. Birds and wildlife abound. It has been a labour of love, our children have grown up here, and our grandchildren enjoy the rural lifestyle as much as their parents.
We hope you will enjoy and appreciate it as much as we do.
